What steps do I need to sue my roommates?

I need as much information as possible! I need to sue my roommates for not paying rent, I also need to sue them for additional charges that are on the bill. They had a dog and he messed up the carpet, so that needed to be replaced. The male roommate got into a fight and there was a big hole in the wall, needs to be replaced. These are charges I want them to be responsible for. I want to know how do I get them to pay their share? Right now our balance is in collections, I clearly dont want to pay the balance alone .. but is this something I need to make payments toward during the sue process?

Did you have a lease or rental agreement involving their names? If everything was in your name, then you're 100% responsible for whatever charges and damages they caused.

If they were on the lease, then you hire a lawyer and take them to court. The lawyer will be more help than we. However, you're really wasting your time if you didn't have a lease or other signed documentation.
