Is this laptop a good laptop?

It's an HP Pavilion g6-1b87CL Laptop PC with Intel Pentium P6200 Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium. It's 4GB of RAM (expandable to 8GB) and it has a 500GB hard drive. I will use it mainly for web surfing, schoolwork (not much, I'd rather hand-write things), and the Sims 3 game - that's the ONLY game that will be played on it due to the amt of space it takes up. Oh, and I also know I should just get a desktop for gaming, but the laptop is a gift.

Yes this is a great low end laptop. The only problem is the ram. You may want to look into upgrading that to the full 8gb if you want to be playing games. :)

specs look good to me, except for the free trial of Norton antivirus software. That would be the first thing I would uninstall if I bought it. I would go with Free Avira antivirus software, no headaches like Norton would give you.

That will be more than enough for what your doing with it. You could probably even host some servers, if you wanted to. But yeah, its a good laptop. :)
