Help? My computer will not let me access links f rom inside a webpage. Can you help?

I have windows XP with plenty of memory, and power. it will let me open as many pages as i want , but not from inside another web page, and not from my email.

Does your browser just skip the hyperlinks on the web page, or are they simply not load up in the browser?
Please list more "symptoms". Thanks.
