Information about Fort Bragg, North Carolina please?

My husband is in the Army and he just got conformation that he's going to be stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what the weather is like year-round there and what the area is like. We're having a baby in a month, so I'd also like to know if it's a safe area and if there is fun stuff for little kids to do around there. Also, I'm from the panhandle of Texas, so am I going to have a big cultural shock moving there?
Thanks :)

By the way, my husband just got into the army, so i was wondering if some of you military wives can give me some insight on what it's like being a military wife and if it's super hard raising a family when your husband is deployed. Thank you :)

Weather is nice. Think it only snowed once or twice last year and one was pretty light. I'm able to drive with the top down all but a few months, not really any seasons though, just hot and not quite as hot.

If you can afford it, do not live in Fayetteville. I cannot stress that enough. It's the large city that surrounds Bragg, get out away from it, avoid Spring Lake to the north too. Nothing but trouble. If you are on post you should be ok.

You can email me through here if you have other questions.

Right now it is cold in the morning, (Your hubby will hate doing PT in the cold) and hot mid day and cold again at night, we hardly ever get snow, but the beach is 2 and a half hours away and the mountains 3 hours away. There are ghetto areas all around Fayetteville (fayettenom). The merk (Murchison road) is pretty ghetto, down town Fayetteville is pretty ghetto, they do have on post housing you can rent. I and my husband got stuck at Bragg and never went anywhere unless we got deployed or we were assigned on a one year tour.
I used my VA loan and now own a house/
I am ex-army so I was use to the deployments.
