Did Cruz play that ball properly?

I felt he didn't get back quick enough, as if he thought it was gone. I know it was hit well and it got there quickly, but I didn't see the requisite hustle for a series clinching catch. Anyone share those thoughts? And even with that, he's had one hell of a post season.

Cruz played that ball completely incorrectly and was one of the worst efforts i have seen in a long time, but no Cruz did not lose the game alone. In the 10th Inning the announcers mentioned that the Rangers had stranded 11 base runners and that the Cards had only stranded 8, at that time I said to myself how in the world were the Rangers even still winning this game, I said to myself there was no way they should be winning or will win this game. Then there was that debacle with who to bat, first they thought Torrealba, then they brought in Feldman, then finally Washington decided to bring in German and well you know the rest, German grounded out to end that half and then they brought in Lowe to pitch to Freese and he hits one out of the park, A complete collapse of management, strategy, pitching and intensity in those final 3 innings. The look on Nolan Ryan's face said it all, The Cards did not win that game the Rangers lost that game.

It seems that Cruz didn't if you just watch the replay. But you have to remember that Cruz has been on the DL for quiet a while this year with a quad problem and is not 100%. But did it cost the game? Absolutely not!! Ron Washington made so many errors, between packages of sun flower seeds, in pitcher selection and substitutions that even the Rangers couldn't generate enough offense to over come the deficit. One case was when the bases were loaded and he still had Lewis bat when he should have used a pinch hitter and brought Feldman in at that time. Then there was pulling Young around the 6th inning. Then there was using pitchers who can throw the ball through the side of the barn. But in stress situations, like when they were brought in, they have proven all year they very possibly can't hit the barn. Washington's errors are too numerous to continue, but he and he alone cost the Rangers the win. I am sure all Cardinal fans are glad that "Wash" was on their side.

Nelson Cruz is not a player that likes to slam onto walls. He has been known to do that and it happened at the worst possible time. Cruz shoupd have just taken the hit at least it would give him a world series win. Now it might cost him big time.

No, he did not. He costed TEX the game plain and simple! When we look back, we won't think of Nelson Cruz and what he did in the postseason coming up with the big hits in crucial moments of the game. No, we'll think of the one game that TEX gave away to STL as a thank you here's another chance of you winning the WS.

Right, it was a tough play, but he should have got back there quicker...even then quite a few players would have made the catch...you have to in that situation.
