If you hate needles you may ask to put some numbing cream where they will put the needle for the iv. Well the night before the surgery you will not be able to eat or drink anything after midnight. The morning of surgery you will go to the surgical center and sign in. They will put an Id bracelet on you. You will wait in the waiting room until your name is called. When you are called in back the nurse will ask you to empty your bladder since you are over 14 the nurse will ask you to pee in a cup for a pregnancy test even if you are Not sexaul active it's a hospital policy across the us. After that the nurse will bring you to your bed and take your blood pressure, pulse, and temp. She will then give you a gown, a hair net and some socks to put on. She will instruct you to take everything off including your bra and underwear she will leave the room so that you can change. When you are in your surgical outfit you will get in Bed the nurse will come in with a nice warm blanket and put the iv in. This is the time to ask for some numbing cream. When the iv is in they will give your some water saline that goes directly in your vein. The nurse will ask you if you are nervous if so they will give you medicine through your iv. The anselogist will come in and ask you and your parents some questions and he will look in your mouth. Later the doctor will come in and talk to you. When it's time for surgery the anselogist and the surgical nurse will come in. The anselogist will put some more medicine in your iv and this time it's time to say goodbye to your parents. They will then wheel you into the or. When you get there it will be very cold. They will ask you to slide over onto the or table and they will put some sticky things on your chest and a blood pressure cuff and a clipy thing on your finger. The anselogist will then put a mask over your mouth and nose and ask you to breathe it in. It's just oxygen that you are breathing in. When it's time for them to begin they will put some medicine in your iv that will gradually put you to sleep. You will then wake up in the recovery one in witch you will have some oxygen mask on you or through your nostrils. The recovery nurse will keep an eye on you and ask you how much pain you are in. If you are in pain they will give you medicine through your iv. You will stay here for about an hour or two. You will then brought back where you first were and you will be able to see your parents. When you are there you will get some popciles to eat. You will stay here for few more hours. They will ask you to go to the bathroom while you are here. They will not let you go home without doing that. When you are home the doctor will prescribed you with a pain medicine through a syrup. Like cough medicine. The pain want that bad but try not to talk for a couple of days. If you need anymore info feel free to email me. I had this surgery before
When you arrived at the hospital you will go to the surgery unit;,to a pre-op holding room. There, you will stay till they take you into the OR. Usually they will start an IV in your arm and they might give you some sedation. Because they are taking out your tonsils the anesthetic will be light but you will not remember anything or feel pain. Once you have recovered they will send you home, And you will have pain like you have a severe sore throat, Most of the foods you will be eating will be soft,. If the Doctor gives you pain medication then take it. Follow his instructions. People vary in recovery times. Email if you have a question.
Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.
Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.
sweety i have gotten mine taken out. it wasnt very painful at all u are under so u dont feel a thing the only thing that is kinda painful is when you wake up and the iv is in your wrist it is a tad painfull i couldnt move my arm but it didnt last long and as soon as they take you from the operating room to your room you get a popsicle it helps soooo much=) then u just have to drink liquids and eat liquids for like 3-5 days its is not bad at all sweety and i was 10 when i got mine out but u r older so the pain will feel less intense good luck hunny =)
