I always hear liberals speaking out in favor of outlawing cigarettes or supporting public smoking bans. You never see conservatives supporting these types of bans.
If the Democratic Party is the Party of Tolerance, why are they so intolerant of everything they disagree with?

You do? I hear it from staunch conservatives. Like that virulent, conservative Christian ASH-hole John Banzhaf. Hell, he hates smokers so much he thinks there should be a law outlawing anyone from hiring them.
By definition that's against liberal beliefs, and is a conservative type view if anything, the people who say that obviously aren't that liberal and use the label because they like the sound of it. its like saying why are all the fat people so thin? , they're not fat people they're thin people even if they label themselves as fat, there wrong.
there's almost no liberals or conservatives, everyone agrees with parts of both, its just a label which apparently means nothing. insult the people not the ideology, unless your actually insulting it for something it says.
They tolerate the things they like and not the things they don't like. Parties of intolerance don't tolerate things they don't like but do the things they like. See the difference? I don't.
In other words they label themselves whatever sounds good to them. They don't give any consideration about what's really true. Most call themselves "liberal" when they are actually socialists or progressives.
True liberalism advocates: individual freedom, weak government, and free markets. Conservatism advocates: moral responsibility, strong government, and protected markets. Progressives advocate: social concern, omniscient government, and controlled markets. Socialism advocates: social responsibility, omnipresent government, and collective markets.
Why wouldn't you be intolerant of things that you disagree with? If you disagree with it, that means you don't like it and therefore, don't tolerate it. I'm just trying to interpret what you wrote.
