Hooking up VCR/VHS player to TV?
Currently my TV has a PS3 and a Wii hooked up to it. I tried just plugging in the VCR using coaxial cable (3 prong one) out of the VCR and in to the tv but nothing happens, tried all the video 1, 2 and 3 channels.

Ok - a VCR usually only supports what is called "Composite" video. This is the Yellow RCA jack.
Your TV must have a Yellow input jack. The Red/Blue/Green jacks are called "Component" and wont work.
Older televisions usually clustered the Yellow video jack with a red/white one next to it for audio.
Look - people hate the way standard def looks on a modern HDTV. A VCR is about half the resolution of standard def and will look double-crappy. Get rid of the VCR. Get a HD-DVR instead.
