statue of limitations on child abuse?

I have custody of my 2 children, their mother signed off custody to me to avoid going to court and possible prison time for some serious child abuse. I didn't want to be the one who took their mother away, so I agreed not to take any actions if she gave me custody. well, it's been about 6 years since the abuse. and now she wants to take me to court to get custody back. is there a statue of limitations for child abuse? this is for Kentucky.

There are no statute of limitations on child abuse cases in Kentucky. Meaning it's for the lifetime of the child.

Lifetime I believe. Fight her on this because you have been the mother to these children that she was not! If she takes the children now it will be devastating for them. There are a lot or resources in your area, just research and ask around.

I believe it's for the lifetime of the child, or when they turn 18.

Sounds like she won't have a chance.
