"Girl, you're a white girl in a black girl's body" "Oreo" "Checker Board"
How the HECK do you ACT black? ITs a freaking skin color I don't get it. What? I'm supposed to act loud and crazy in order to "act black"? I'm supposed to not care about my own education in order to "act black"?
Well, I'm sorry, but I act like ME. I don't think it's physically possible to act like a skin colour amirte? :D
No really, how the HECK does "acting black" make any logical sense?
Because all I'm getting from that statement is stereotyping :l

Are you asking this question on behalf of white people (because you are white) or are you asking the question as to stereotype Black people? The Black people that might use the phrase "act black" "act white" use it as a slang which mean "white (people) lovers" What about the term some white people use for their people who be around or associate a lot with Black people? They are labeled as "n" lovers. What's the difference? What you are doing is labeling (stereotyping) what you think Black people do/say.
All skin color aside, you sound educated, and well mannered, not loud and sloppy ghetto, and that is a big plus for you! You realize that being black does not require you to be ill mannered and obnoxious. People will like you if you stay that way, and you skin color will be irrelevant, because you are civilized. That makes you fit in. Black people don't want you to fit in with other ethnic groups like white and latino. And because you do fit in with everyone, no matter what their race is, you are looked down upon by other blacks, because they were bred to be loud and ghetto.
Black is a skin color so you can't act black. You can act "ghetto" and ignorant people usually assume all African American's should act ghetto. It's just as you said stereotyping. I'm sorry people think like this.
I say keep acting like yourself no matter what others think.
Act however you want to act. I'm a Black girl, and nothing about me goes with my "race" because i could care less about my race in my day to day life. I like science and "nerdy" things, and shopping and looking prettiful. Thats what makes me happy, so that's what i focus on. If anyone were to ever tell me to my face that i don't "act black" then I'd start off on some long explanation on how that concept makes no sense because not only is Black used to categorize an entire race of people that number in the billions around the world, speaking thousands of different languages and living in many many different types of cultures worldwide, but most people who use that term are African Americans, and African Americans are probably the least educated group when it comes to Black issues around the world, not to mention that being Americans they are more like White Americans in culture than they are like true Black Africans, so how can they ever say something so ignorant??? ...
