Is the world so PC that even wanting to ask about a firearm has to be made uncomfortable by there being no category? The closest I could get was >Sports>>Outdoor Sports. Oh Political Correctness,...... thy stinketh.

Political correctness is what it is.
I've been here for years. There are hundreds of firearms questions asked daily. Y!A has received hundreds of requests for a firearms category. They won't do it. Company policy.
Categories to look or ask in: Law enforcement, hunting, military and sports, mostly, but they sometimes turn up just about anywhere.

There is only one answer, "political correctness" in order to appease the anti gun liberal crowed Yahoo Answers has chosen not to allow those of us with an interest in firearms to have a dedicated category. You can blame it all upon the liberals of our great country that choose to avail themselves of their own personal view of Constitutional rights yet choose to limit others of their Constitutional rights of freedom of speech.
Obviously we are not totally free even in our greatest of countries. Freedom comes from education and some people choose to either limit our education or to direct our education into a direction they personally feel is politically correct, regardless of the correctness, fairness, or educational diversity needed to fully round out a free country. The truth is if a lie is repeated many times some people will begin to believe it as truth even though it is a blatant error.

Yahoo Answers bases most of their category headings on what people post about. If you have a suggestion for additonal categories or subcategories, you can alert the staff to that on the Suggestion Board on the ABOUT tab. If enough folks request it, they WILL add it. Several categories have been added - and some removed - based on just such suggestions.

Based on my experience on here (been here for more than 1 month) I know that sometimes you need to ask the Yahoo! Answers people to add a sub-category or delete a sub-category so go to the suggestion board and ask it to those people and if enough people vote for it,it will become a sub-category for Y!A and you will get so ask in the suggestion board :)!
