How long do you have to wait after you get your Drivers License in California to drive a minor?

I've been searching for it all over the place and I can't seem to find it. My girlfriend got her drivers license yesterday and she's 17 today so basically she got it when she was 16, but how long can she wait before she can drive me without an adult in the car. I'm 16 and I get my license in a month. Basically, what I'm asking is, how long after you get your license can you start transporting minors by yourself?

She has to wait 12 months until she can transport someone under 20 unless she's accompanied by her parent, guardian, or a licensed driver over 25.
