Registered name ideas for my horse as well as pinto type?
I bought my horse a little over 4 months ago now (though I've been working with him much longer) and happened to come across the Pinto Horse Society website and would like to register him with them, just for the hell of it. :)
Anyway, to do so I need to come up with a full name to register him as, as he's never had one before. His name is Dex. I also need to decide for sure what type of pinto he is - from what research I've done I think he's a tobiano? But I'm not completely sure as I'd only even heard him be referred to as a skewbald up until now (apparently we're now catching up with the rest of the world in having pinto types!).
If anyone has any ideas on pinto types, or names that work with Dex, it'd be appreciated hugely. :D
Photo - note he's fluffy because it was the middle of winter and he still had his winter coat. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7152/6440975825_92bf207740_b.jpg

Nyaaaaw.
Sorry, I do that with a lot of pintos.... I would love to have a pinto too but I'd never buy a horse for the colour so, bay it is! :P
From what I can see he's a Tobiano but I'm no expert either.
As for the names - I'm really not good with suggesting names. But if I were you I'd go into www.allbreedpedigree.com and take a good look at pedigrees. They give you SO many ideas! Start off with for instance a Paint Horse and browse around until you have a nice shortlist of names you like. There are so many treasures in there! I'll give you some links to get you started.

Some names stand out, some don't, but I'm sure you can find some you like - in the end there's too many of them, not too few :D
You don't say what you are going to use him for but when I say his barn name as "Dex" it immediately made me think of the dressage term "pas de deux," which sort of fits because his is two toned. Maybe you could use that term or come take off on it: "Deux de Dex," (two of Dex) or "Dex de Deux" (Dex [decks] of Two).
Skewbald (and piebald) are European terms in my mind, so if you know French (I don't), you may be able to do more with the terms.
Syracuse is a nice name. I read it in a fiction book; the horse in the book is a sorrel color too. The Celtic god of horses is called Epona, but I believe Epona is a girl (you could always look it up).
