The biggest difference
MGIB is paid directly to you
Post 911 GI Bill is paid to the school, the housing allowance is paid directly to you
2. In almost all cases, the post 911 Gi bill is better
3. About the only time the MGIB is better, is if your in the Guard after active service and your state offers free tuition to state guard members
Then you have to determine, which is more, your MGIB payments or the housing allowance from the post 911 Gi bill
IE:
In high cost of living area like san dieago, then the post 911 housing allowance would be more
In a low cost of living area, Univ of alabama, etc - then ther MGIB would be more.
