Mayweather vs Miguel the warrior Cotto?

Do you think he can pull off the win against Mayweather? If not the Miguel of today how about the Miguel who beat Shane?

Miguel Cotto is a beast, and if a few factors go his way he can sure pull off an upset. Only problem is that Mayweather the greatest and most intelligent boxer in the world. He can adapt to any style. Cotto is a swarmer, which means that he will put constant pressure on Mayweather. If he can do it in the right way and land accurate punches, I am sure he can hurt him. Mosley hurt him, but he stopped applying pressure after that. If Cotto can hurt him and keep the pressure up, I'm sure he can win. Only problem is Mayweather won't just stand there and take hits, and it'll take something special to get through his defense let alone hurt him, and the fact that he can adapt means Cotto will need to change it up after the early rounds of pressure. Maybe something more patient, to draw Mayweather in, and Cotto is not too bad at counterpunching, but even that has to be perfect, because while he may not use it too often, Mayweather has a top class offense.
But to make all that happen, Cotto needs to have a near-enough perfect fight and hope Mayweathers having an off day. Most likely a unanimous decision to Mayweather but I could possibly see a late stoppage win for Mayweather as well.

I think the today version of both fighters might in fact have a better chance. You haven't really seen Floyd tested recently. I guess the biggest recent test was Shane Mosley and that was YEARS ago. Ortiz looked like he could have out-muscled and worn down Floyd. You would imagine Cotto would have been even better at it. Still the edge would be with Mayweather. But Cotto could not be counted out. Especially if the match were to be made at 154.

I don't think anyone needs to see this fight. Yes, Cotto looked good this past Saturday, but he was throwing punches at a guy who doesn't defend himself. There's a huge difference between Mayweather and Margarito, let's not get carried away.

Anything can happen in boxing so Cotto can't be counted out but you can't let yourself be fooled by his victory over Margarito. Antonio Margarito is easy to out box because Margarito can't box. All he can do is take a punch and punch back ridiculously slow. Mayweather is now past his prime but no matter what version of Mayweather he fights and no matter what version of Cotto fights him, he can't out box Mayweather. If he fights aggressively then Mayweather can use his aggression against him, but that would be his only chance because he can't beat Mayweather by keeping his distance. Mayweather is faster, smarter, and has a longer reach. He can't let Mayweather get into his groove. He can't let him adjust. He would have to attack him early and be aggressive but not reckless. He would have to attack his body.

No but it would be Cotto's biggest payday
Floyd is too fast for Cotto
Cotto deserves a shot though
Floyd fought Ortiz, why not Cotto who is a bigger draw
Oh right.

Won't happen
