Military only: would you kill your neighbors if ordered to?

Hypothetical situation:
20 Muslims open fire in 20 shopping malls across America. They use handguns, killing hundreds and wrecking the economy (people afraid to shop). In response, the federal government bans all hand guns (for our own protection). This is a gross and blatant violation of the 2nd amendment, so the NRA and others disobey the law and begin organizing resistance. If the president orders you to start killing NRA members and anybody that refuses to surrender guns, do you obey?

Here's what would happen in your hypothetical scenario (which I assume is based off of NDAA's provisions):

-Said Muslims would be declared terrorists (a lengthy process, by the way)
-They would be captured/arrested by various agencies
-They would be turned over to the military to be held as illegal combatants and held until the end of hostilities (or they die, whichever comes first).

No one's going to go after guns.

THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS ABOUT.

What the NDAA is about is realizing that terrorism is not something that is dealt with well by a legal system, and that people who declare war on America are enemies, whether they are Americans or not (which is a legal principle upheld by the US Legal System-see Ex Parte Quirin for more on that).

If I were any where and people started firing on unarmed civilians I would fight back no matter what ethnicity they were. If the government did that and people start revolting against this corrupt government then I would take all my gear and weapons , abandon the Army and join the revolution.

No, you don't kill them.
If my neighbor pointed a weapon at me or my fellow brothers in arms, then yes, put his *** in the grave, but just because you are ordered to, then NO.

But if it meant to detain and seize the weapons, then that's a different question

No. Because that would be an illegal order. In your hypothetical situation.
