me and two of my other friends are going to mall together and it takes 2 40 miles to AND back and it takes 80 minutes to AND back. I drive hyundae tucson which is very similar to nissan murano. we want to divide the price for gas evenly!
P.S. my friend thinks three dollars per person is enough?

if this was a math problem in school I'd tell my teach there's not enough information to decide.
you didn't say what gas cost in your area. in my area it $3.16 per gallon. it also depends on if its city drive or highway. I'll also assume you use regular not premium.
so assuming a mix of highway and city driving at $3.16 in 25 mpg Hyundai Tucson 2WD (4wd gets worst gas millage) would = $1.896 per person for grand total of $5.688 of gas.
for every $0.03 more your gas is ad $0.01 to each friends bill. or subtract of the opposite.
