Is my cars battery bad?

I had a bad starter that would die on me and also kill my battery, so a few days ago I changed it with a new one, after I put in the new starter the only way to start my car was to jump start it and I had to do this the whole day if I wanted to drive it. the next day, I went tI see of my engine would turn over and for some reason it did and was working fun the whole day. I took it my car to autozone that day to get my battery checked and yet say it was charged 100% and I asked if it could be the alternator but he said because its charged the alternator is fine. but the next day (today) my car won't start, just that dead battery clicking noise. is my battery bad ? even tbough the guy said it was charged ?

Given the information provided I would replace my battery due to the old starter discharging it periodically and secondly, most importantly, I would trace my body ground and make sure I have a good clean connection, it sounds as if this may be an issue.

Read my lips! Replace any standard wet cell lead acid battery that is over 4 or 5 years old NO MATTER what any battery tests say. Batteries need to be replaced regularly with some newer technology AGM batteries lasting longer. You may not have needed a new starter motor to "start" with and it may have been a battery or battery cable problem all along.

Want to fix your problem? Listen to a wise old man who has worked on cars for over 55 years.

Get a good wire battery post and cable cleaner and clean your battery terminals and cables. DO NOT think they are clean just because you do not see a white build-up. It takes at least 9.5 volts to start an engine. Clean those cables and terminals real good and then start her up.

as long as the battery is staying charged then it,s not the alternator or the battery. i would have to say your problem is with the solenoid if it,s not kicking in. the solenoid could be sticking part of the time and sometimes not.
