failure to adapt discharge?

what does that mean. A friend of mine was discharged from the army because of that.

It means that your friend was unable to adjust his/her thinking and actions to the requirements of the Military. It is usually not a detrimental discharge, simply a reflection of an inability/unwillingness on the part of your friend.

It is basically the person could not adjust to military standards. They couldn't deal with or handle basic or AIT training. They might have just not been able to pass the requirements or they had some emotional/depression issues and couldn't complete their tasks. Some one doesn't get kicked out for that, unless they truly are not doing well. not every one is cut out to be a soldier.

Could not pass basic training. Nice way of saying you are a F up.

A polite way of saying " we both made a big mistake in letting you enlist."

Its basically a seperation leave.

he/she went to the company commander and told them that they quit due to homesickness. Or gave attitude to cadre. it could mean a lot of things.

now your friend is going to be in hold over till that cycle graduates.
