Most people that are offering laptop advice have no idea what the Hell they're talking about. Macs are known for their proficiency but the prices can be insane. As the other guy mentioned Toshiba has good laptops. Really, just look at the specifictions. If you want it for gaming you'll need a decent processor and video card. I don't know what game you want to play, but let's say you wanted to play Starcraft 2 on decent settings. You should likely get something with
6GB+ for ram
Hard drive doesn't matter but go for 500-750GB SATA.
Video card is important. Try to go for amd radeon 6500+ or Geforce GTX 500+ with at least 1GB dedicated. Don't go for anything less than 1GB DEDICATED. If it's shared, it's ****.
Processor. Ideally you'll want to go with something like a quad core i7 processor with 2.4 GHZ but those are rare unless you pay a ton, so anything that's dual or quad core with 2.2GHZ+ is fine for playing with high fps. (Frames per second)
I don't think I forgot anything. By the way, HP are usually not good for gaming, Acer are good, Toshiba, Alienware if you have a ton of money lol. That pretty much sums it up.

It all depends what you will need it for mainly. If you are just gonna surf the web get a notebook. If you are gonna be using it for creating and fun get a mac.(keep in mind mac's have pretty choosey software, you can only use their programs) if you need it for buisness get a dell because they are prepared for everything from memory to software. But you will waste a lot of money on just the computers themselves and software like microsoft is 80-100 dollars more depending on what (office, student, etc) So i would recommend for what you will really need it the most for. Believe me i have 5 computers (Eee pc notebook, 2 dell towers, 1 toshiba laptop, and a mac) big family....

I even have 2 Dell laptops. I even have used Sony and Toshiba until now. I advise going to the Microsoft internet site decrease than and working the Vista compatibility adviser. this provides you with some techniques regarding in the experience that your device will run Vista. I advise you could need to have a minimum of two gigs of ram to run the utility. I warning you approximately gadget driving force themes with upgrading. i think of various shoppers are waiting until the 1st provider %. is issued. That revision will handle many of the driving force correct themes now. I will additionally in no way purchase the stripped down homestead version of an working device. I even have performed that interior the previous just to could bypass purchase the greater robust corporation working device good luck.

Toshiba Satellite C675D-S7328 17.3-Inch Laptop is not a bad everyday computer, but given the $449.99 price tag, it's not a great value. I bought this during Black Friday for $349.99, and I'd have to say that price is more reasonable. Had I paid full price for it, I would have been a little dissapointed, since you can easily find better hardware at that price point.
