After the Maaco bowl massacre, does anybody still think Boise shouldn't have been in a BCS bowl?
Excluding Craig James of course LoL
The Sugar bowl snub already was one of the most controversial snubs in BCS history (#7 Boise State sat on the sidelines while #11 and #14 get in). The usual strength of schedule argument went flying out the window when Virginia Tech got in despite beating zero top 25 teams and losing by double digits to Clemson twice. Also Boise's only loss was to a team ranked in the final poll while having its top running back (projected nfl draft pick), top defensive lineman(projected NFL draft pick) and top 5 corner backs on the sidelines.
The temptation to rant is overwhelming LoL
Long story short, does anybody out thier honestly believe Boise should not have got into a BCS bowl and MOST IMPORTANTLY why?
Robert M - As stated in my rant, Boise had a tougher SoS than Virginia Tech, Boise also beat a top 25 team and Boise didn't have a chance to avenge its only loss which Virginia Tech did (VT lost that as well). I will say one thing though that I should have mentioned earlier, Arizona State is not a push over(despite going into the game at 6-6). Arizona never once was blown out despite playing USC (actually beat USC!) and Oregon. The fact that Boise curb stomped them while Arizona State is playing 50/50 football against everybody including the top 10 means something.
Legfu- Now that I can buy into.... news flash Virginia Tech is having trouble selling tickets to the game.http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/hokies-journal/post/sugar-bowl-update-on-virginia-techs-ticket-sales/2011/12/27/gIQAEQzbKP_blog.html Also Boise managed to out sell Virginia Tech for the Maaco who gives a flying fudge bowl. The old style thinking that Boise doesn't sell tickets or TV ratings is about as silly as the BCS itself.
