It is a 64 bit operating system with 4.00 of ram already installed. So if I upgraded to 8 ram will my gaming performance drastically improve? or is it a waste of money? Don't tell me to get a GPU becuase I can't upgrade my video card.
Right now I can play skyrim on low detail high resolution without lagging at all. The levels are low, median, high, ultra..so where would that extra ram put me on? Would I be able to play skyrim on high detail without lagging?
I look forward to seeing your answers.

Contrary to what the guy above me said, RAM DOES affect performance, to an extent. It will negatively impact performance if you do not have enough of it. However, if you are already at 4gb, then no, you will not see any improvement, unless you run a TON of background apps.
EDIT: I am adding this video specifically for the guy above me, who thinks ram does not affect performance:
When you run on a PC there are background programs that can affect performance, more RAM will improve performance in this case. The Steam Community games and similar online sevices can be effected by back ground updates and Syncing, RAM will help here too. It is true that RAM will not help unless it is so small the RAM must swap data while the game is running. I believe in RAM, I have 32 gigs. I also believe in great graphics cards and processors. My thoughts are that a great game should be played on a platform worthy of the developers efforts. Save your money and have a PC built. I say a PC for a number of reasons. You can upgrade and you can use modifications that can greatly enhance or completely change a game. Consoles are fine but tend to be limited (not expandable, upgrade-able and no mod files can be installed. I hope you find something that allows you to fully enjoy gaming as it s intended to be. Good luck.
For gaming 4GB is enough, 8GB is more than enough. This RAM upgrade will not get you any noticeable performance improvement. The most important in gaming performance are the processor and graphics card, not the RAM. Your All-in-one has integrated graphics, not at all good for gaming. You need a PC with a dedicated graphics card, at least a GTX460 or better for gaming performance.
Nope. More ram allows you to have more things open and running at once. It will not make the things that ARE open and running any faster. RAM will only effect gaming performance if you do not have enough of it. 4GB is plenty for gaming.
If you want to improve gaming performance you're going to need a better video card and unless you already have one, a CPU which can keep up with it.
Addig more RAM can actually make games run better but only if you have very few so no, not in your situation. The most simple procedure to check if you need more RAM for your game is to check your HDD LED when the game stutters. If your HDD creeks like hell and the LED is constantly on, your computer is accessing the swapfile which is because it doesn't have enough physical memory (RAM). But 4 gigs is pretty much enough for every game, especially in low detail.
