Does Obama have our countrys best interest at heart?
He slipped away from approving a pipeline from Alberta to TX. It would have put 5000 people to work nearly immediately, and some 95000 jobs to follow but he said the paperwork on the environmental aspects are not yet complete. The Environmentalists, who support him for his re election, are extremely happy he did this. So just for votes, Obama will not approve this until after he is elected. In the meantime, millions of Americans, who believe in this guy, are suffering to pay mortgages, put food on the table, and so forth. Pretty shameful behavior from someone who took an oath to have the best interest of all Americans, not just those who give him big money.

I think most of the time they do, but this particular president is in a no win situation. If it were me, I would have approved this pipeline and put Americans back to work. What good is a nice clean environment, when people can't put food on the table? I could never be President, because someone is always going to be unhappy with a decision you make. I don't think he has anything to be ashamed of. It's hard trying to please all 300 million plus of your countrymen. Someone is always going to bytch and moan about a decision. That poor guy is going to have a head full of gray hair by the next election.
He wanted to wait to make a decision on the pipeline, but the Republicans forced his hand when they exteded the SS tax break. At that point, he had to either approve a massive project without the necessary research completed or face the wrath of the unemployed who could have been put to work on it. It was really a no-win situation.
But I really don't think he did it for any votes. The number of people who are going to vote for him because of this is dwarfed by the number who would have voted for him if he gave it the okay, and he is probably going to remain the stronger candidate among the environmentalists no matter who wins the Republican nomination. In the end, I think he would have picked up more votes if he did approve the project.
The president is doing the best he can. Just as the other 43 presidents have. But many issues arise with his decisions. He needs to examine the impacts the pipeline will cause.
The oil spills we have suffered many times over causes worldwide concerns that can reflect the pipeline too.
A person does not run the white house. Corporations do. it doesnt matter what person or what party is in the seat. Every term we lose more rights and pieces of the constitution a little faster than the previous term, all to make us easier to control and subdue.
