I like Christians. I may not agree with them, but I believe that for the most part, they are good people. Why can't Aethiests and the religious folk agree to disagree and work together on the important things, like feeding the hungry and improving education for kids?

I would love to agree to disagree... but unfortunately Christians do not want this. They keep forcing their beliefs on others by trying to influence our governments, our schooling systems, when shops may be open and when they should stay closed, et cetera. If Christians would stop with all this and simply keep their beliefs to themselves, then we could all agree to disagree... but as long as Christians keep doing all this, there can be no such agreement.
I think we do for the main part although I support Action Aid rather than Christian Aid because I want all my money to go on food and medicines and farming equipment and wells and that practical stuff and none on bibles and preaching. The main thing which really bothers me with fundamentalist Christians is when they believe in a Hell of eternal torture for non-christians and still worship the god they believe would do that. I'd have the same problem with Nazi supporters who thought that the concentration camps were OK so that is not really a religious objection.
that is the position you've the flair to have a not in any respect ending cycle of each thing you do or say is incomprehensible in the grand scheme of issues and hence there isn't any think about contributing as in spite of you make contributions will be meaningless. if you're firmly of that perception than there is honestly no longer some thing every person can say or do to cajole you otherwise. My perception is to pay interest on who you're - whoever we are and in spite of we do in existence we've an outcome on extra people than we definitely appreciate. for sure there is instant relatives, associates and loved ones. even with the indisputable fact that there is also the wider scale of the community as well. purely via latest we feed into some form of unstated and misunderstood, human and organic conciousness and that is our responsability to make existence extra functional. it ought to correctly be (and oftentimes is) in small procedures, yet in those small procedures we've a ripple outcome. If each human being does some thing small then it turns into some thing large and some thing huge! that is about realising that like or no longer it truly is what we are as people and that you, we, all people can make a distinction. We purely opt to manage to resign being self self self and look on the bigger image!
Some people work on that kinda thing. Inter-faith relations(fancy modern wording ftw). Many faiths come with the whole "our way is the right & only way" stuff which conflicts with that. Plus we're just silly, imperfect humans. It'd be nice if everyone put golden rule, "be excellent to each other" teachings above our differences, but that's easier said than done.
I don't know what an aethiest is, but in the real world, we do. In here, we discuss the things that make us different. In real life, we discuss the weather, our plans for the weekend, who is picking hte children up from school, etc.
