Anything you want, basically.. assuming all your other hardware is sufficient. I would be surprised if you ever used more than 4GB of RAM, tbh.

You can put it in dual channel, because using 7gb would mean you would have to have 2x2gb + 1x3gb, or 1x4gb and 1x3gb. Both of those would be horrible. Stick with 2 of the same modules in dual channel (make sure the same colored slots are used for identical modules). With 7gb of ram, you can have lots of tabs open while playing a game.

First of all you should know that when you watch videos from YouTube they are downloaded into your RAM and they get stored there until you close the tab. I would say that your Ram is made for gaming. You can download steam and buy games or buy the cd´s. This is what you can use it for. However, you can also multitask or work around with your computer and knowing that it wont get easily stuck. That about it.

More RAM helps you run more programs simultaneously without swapping. It also allows more files to be kept in memory so they are easily accessed. 7GB isn't really a lot these days. Of course, it depends on how good your operating system is. Unix, Linux, and OS X are better at using memory than that other operating system.

To be honest unless your doing video editing or running 10 games at once... it will never be used that much. i have 12gb and i regret getting it since the most it has ever gone up to was 45% ram usage... (i was deliberately opening everything to get it up)
