A friend of mine told me his story

apparently he has a childhood friend that he vowed that he'll give flowers to every valentines day.

12 years passed and he didn't fail a single time and now they're both 19 years thought they dated in high school they decided to just stay friends. They still hang out and still are comfortable with each other. 

they're both single a problem that can't be solved because they're always together.
