Holiday World - worth the drive?

Is Holiday World worth the drive from Indianapolis with youngest at 11 years old? And if so, how bad are the crowds on a Sunday?

Yes it is so worth the drive! I went to Holiday World during the summer of 2006 with my family. It's only about a 3 hour drive from Indianapolis. Give or take. I went on a Saturday I believe. Can't really remember. Friday or Saturday. Anyway I stayed the weekend. So it had to have been Saturday. Sunday crowds are almost the same if you were to go on a Saturday. By it not being Summer though you shouldn't have to worry about a big crowd. Hope you and your family have fun!

Yes! I've been many times (driving from Indianapolis). Just be aware, and make sure the kids know, that Holiday World is NOT King's Island. The rides will be smaller and may not be as thrilling, especially for someone who's used to big rollercoasters. That being said, I always have a lot of fun at Holiday World (and I LOVE big rides at all amusement parks!).

The crowds are smaller, therefore the lines are shorter, than larger theme parks, which is a definite perk! The park is clean and they have free sunscreen throughout the park! Also free soft drinks all day.

The water park is fun too. I recommend it. You can easily do both water park and non-water park in one day.

Yes, if your kids like amusement parks, etc. If you want to avoid crowds, go before the water park opens for the year.
