Question about steam mops on laminate floor?

Do they really work good? Do they get the ground in dirt off? Once a month I am scrubbing on my hands and knees, its getting old. Or is the steam mop just for normal cleaning? What is a good brand, and how much. Thanks

No, anything that moisture / water will damage the laminate, it would work wonderful for tile floor.

I have the same problem and my house is all tile and laminate. With Laminate, I just sweep with Mystic Maid mop. The best discovery I have ever made for caring my laminate floor.

I have laminate floors and I use a microfiber mop that I bought at Walmart for about $10.
The pad is removable and machine washable. It's a good quality pad and is thick and absorbent. I simply rinse it with really hot water, wring it out and mop the floor. It absorbs everything and the floor drys quickly so that no moisture sits on the laminate. The only downside is that you have to remove the cloth to rinse but it does a really good job and the floors shine.
I have been using it for about 3 years now, and have had no problems with seams swelling or the finish wearing off. A quick once over every day or two is all you need to keep the floors nice and clean and shiny.
I have heard conflicting stories on the steam mop. Some people say it's ok but some say that over time the floor will become dull and the seams will start swelling. I would say that it's probably not a good idea to use the steam mop on laminate, once the seams start to go your floor is ruined.

My husband and I were at a lowe's hardware store the other day and I really wanted to get a steam mop. My husband told me that after reading the box, hardware floors were safe to use on, but he was concerned because the box didn't actually say it was safe for laminate as well. So he called the toll free customer service number on the steam mop box and the rep that he spoke to said that steam was actually not recommended for laminate.

I suggest you to to the store, whether a walmart or a hardware store that sells these steam mops.. look on the boxes in itself because we did not find a single one that actually said "safe for LAMINATE", only hardwood floors, linoleum, etc...
