What should I bring to somebodies house?

We are going to a new friends house for brunch tomorrow and I do not know what to bring. He is a chef and they are very wealthy. I do not want to bring wine because I know nothing about wine and I want to spend around $25 to $50.

Thanks!

Brunch is always a sweet way to spend time with friends. You could go in so many different directions , but I think flowers are a beautiful choice. I recently went to a colleagues home and this person is so eclectic and her home has a bit of this and that for decor. I found a vintage vase (white and really rustic) and bought flowers. It was an arrangement of all white and just a few pink roses with some green filler. The flowers were very inexpensive, and I found the vintage vase at a second hand shop. Also, I brought them some chocolates. This went over really well and the vase was placed right in the center of her Brunch serving table. YOu just can"t go wrong with flowers. HOpe this helps and enjoy the brunch.

Personally I think you can't go wrong with alcohol. Because it is a brunch, a more appropriate gift would be champagne. If you know what is being served, you can look online to find out what goes best with the meal. A $50 bottle of champagne is a decent bottle. Not everyone, wealthy or not, expects expensive gifts. If you're uncomfortable with that you could bring a nice chocolate gift basket. If you have a local specialty candy shop nearby, they should be able to help you with that. Also you can't go wrong with bringing the lady of the house a flower bouquet in a pretty vase. Us girls always appreciate flowers and if the lady's happy, the husband's happy! Good luck and have fun!

This is why I believe that we need to have consultants for this. A person who is a professional in all things rich/poor. That way we know what to do when encountering someone who's more rich or more poor than we are, without making ourselves look like we're trying too hard, or making ourselves look like an aristocrat. Seriously!!

Anyway, bring a fruit/vegetable crudite (cheese, crackers, etc). That way, you don't spend too much money and everyone likes it.
