Can a bad coolant temp sensor cause the car to not start?

So i replaced alot of stuff over the past month on my 240sx. Fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, distributor, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires. After i replaced everything the car would start and run for a bit and then stall out. Now the car wont even start it will just crank. I've heard that a bad coolant temp sensor with cause a car to run really bad. I was wondering would it cause the car to not start period? I would like input before i go and purchase i a new one. THANKS ya'll.

Hope your pal "Lester" can swim as he is drowning in his own BS. You heard wrong! An engine doesn't even need an electrical temperature sending unit to start an engine. Have you checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail? Is there any ignition fire at the plugs while the motor is being cranked?

You need to quit replacing parts and start testing before throwing money away on parts that are probably working just fine.

Have your computer codes pulled for starters, then start testing.

Get on the internet and just type in "how to test ________" whatever, and you'll get the information you need to test before replacing.

And yes, a bad coolant temperatue sensor can cause starting problems, but so can many other things.

This is why it's critical to test before replacing anything.

A continuity tester and multimeter will go a long ways in helping your diagnosis.

Yes a bad coolant sensor can make the car run rough or not start.

try the crank sensor, not the coolant sensor.
