Is it strange that I hate the word "lesbian" so I say I'm "gay" instead?
I don't really know why I hate it. I just NEVER call myself a lesbian, ever. It isn't a problem or anything for other people to refer to me as a lesbian. I just don't do it myself...

The reason you dont like it is because society has attached a negative attitude to it. Theres nothing wrong with calling yourself gay, because well, you are. =] Not strange at all. I know a lot of people that dont use the word. In fact I know a lot of people that prefer not to call themselves anything but their names.
I actual have been accused of being a wannabe in this manner of large variety of words. That individual is now long previous and that i'm nonetheless right here, wannabein'. everyone can say something, that's walkin' the communicate that's the puddin', that's the real evidence of who's what.
Not at all strange, Actually I know a lot of lesbians who don't like the word and prefer to use gay. It's kind of a thing, not at all uncommon. I guess I prefer to be called gay rather than homosexual, but the latter wouldn't really bother me either. Just comes down to personal preference. (:
hahaha i saw that some women were trying to get the word "gayelle" popular because they didnt like the word lesbian. maybe jump on the bandwagon with them
