Puppy might have eaten a Tylenol tablet?

Question

My 10 months old puppy might have eaten one Tylenol extra strength rapid release gels . . . my mom left it on the counter, with the cover off. =/ It does have  a cotton ball in it.  The last time I remember there were only 2 tablets in it, and after my puppy got them, it was still the same number.  I walked from my room and saw it on the floor.  He's around ten pounds {he's a shih-tzu/mini poodle mix}.  My mom refuses to take him to an emergency vet.


He's acting normal, only a bit more tired then usual.

Since I'm not sure if he ate one or not, what should I do? And again, he can't get taken to the vet.  That's what happens when you have a lazy mother that can't do anything.

Some dogs are expert at eating food around a tablet, and leaving the tablet! If he won't eat it in his food, then gently open his mouth, place the tablet on the back of his tongue and use your index finger to gently push it into his throat - he might struggle a bit, so don't be afraid to be quite firm, while still being as gentle as you can. It really is important for him to be wormed regularly, so don't let him miss taking the tablet because he's a bit stubborn. If you're still not sure, perhaps you could ask the vet to show you how to do it.

Yes you can call a vet. They are called EMERGENCY VETS on call 24/7. Call them and see what they think you should do. Even if she won't take him, you can still ask for advice.

Take him to the vet.  Just like people, different dogs react to toxins differently.  It is better to have the vet check your pup over than to have it get sick and beyond the point of helping.
