Is it rude to ask someone which sex they prefer to be called?

I know a few people my age who dress/act like the opposite sex of which they anatomically are. I don't have any problems with them and I don't want to offend them by calling them the wrong thing. But at the same time, I don't want to offend them even more by asking. Would it be rude to ask?

Ah. Well, if you think there's a chance they're just tomboys etc then don't because they'd probably be hurt. If they were truly trans though, I think they'd be perfectly happy for you to ask though. It shows you're sympathetic, as long as you do it delicately.

Yeah, i wouldnt really ask anybody that even if they're cross dressers. I would just refer to them as the sex they really are. And if you really cant tell, i would just say nothing at all
