Audio playing throughout pptx presentation...can it be muted for video clips?
I have added am MP3 file to play across all slides of a Powerpoint presentation. However, it continues to play simultaneously with the video clips and each video clip has it's own music bed. I can't find any control function to "mute" the MP3 audio (playing behind all slides) when a video clip is triggered within any individual slide. Is there any way to suspend the embedded audio during video clips?

You'll have to set the audio to run from the 1 slide you want it on through the last slide before a video. Then start the audio again on the slide after the video until the next video, etc.
If you want to use different parts of the audio track, you should be able to edit it in PowerPoint 2010. If you are using an earlier version, you will have to edit it outside of PowerPoint using something like Audacity. audacity.sourceforge.net
I still use old school pp 2003 but on that you click on the symbol of a microphone with sound waves that pops up and it comes up with properties and you can check a box that says mute that'll cut the sound on that slide.
decrease the quantity of the video. carry the blue line to the commencing factor of the muting then locate the tip and do the comparable. Then splendid click on the video and locate the quantity and positioned it to the backside then you definately can do it.
