I need a lawyer to tell me if I have a case !!!!!!!111?

My father was extremely ill and he was in the hospital (Sound Shore Medical Center, which is on the list for top 15 worse hospitals in New York Sate) and his room was about 20 feet from the nurses station because he always had to be under close watch. One day, whatever the reason, he stopped breathing and his brain died due to lack of oxygen. I know that it takes atleast 4 minutes for brain cells to start to die but his brain death was far more serious, he eventually went so long without oxygen he had no brain activity what so ever and no response to pain stimulus. For this to occur it would take several minutes of no oxygen, and I feel being he was so close to the nurses station he should have been discovered before a hundred percent of his brain died. Due to his wishes my family made the quite difficult decision to pull his plug. It has been almost a year ago now, but now that I am finally coping to his death and learning to live with it, I feel someone should pay for this horrific event... Do I have a case ?

Also - I am a 22 year old boy, my father died, and immediatley after my father died, two days later my mom had a stroke which led to her untimely demise only 3 months after my father and now I am alone, and I feel I should be taken care of because I now someone made a mistake.

No hospital can provide someone to watch a single patient every moment. He stopped breathing, which is how people pass away. If the nurse came in the room a minute before and a minute after, one would think a nurse attending him every six minutes would be quality care, but four minutes of not breathing will cause someone to die. I am very sorry for your loss, both of them, but it is very doubtful that you will win a case.

Once you are an adult of 22, you should take care of yourself. Unless you have a reason to be unable to care for yourself, telling the court that you "feel" you should be "taken care of" isn't really proof of damages.

You can have an attorney review his medical file just to be sure no mistakes were made. If he was "extremely ill" as you say, the hospital may show that he was not expected to live.

Again, having lost both of my own parents, I am very very sorry to hear of your loss at a very young age.

What exactly do you think they did wrong? Nurses don't have time to sit and watch a patient one on pne all day.I don't see what kind of case you think you have.

You are 22.Stop acting like you are 5. No one owes you anything.

I'm sorry to hear that about both your parents. I think you may have a case on your Dad's death. If everything you said is true, then I would consult your family and possibly an attorney's office.

You could have one since it is one of the worst hospitals like you said and he was under such close care for this to happen. But I wouldn't get caught up in all of this because many frustrating things will happen and you might not end up winning.
