Is it possible that residue from the BP Gulf oil spill is in the Atlantic?
We were on a cruise in the eastern Caribbean this past December and I noticed brown streams in the water. For a long time I thought it was algae, but then realized it looked a lot like what I'd seen on TV of the treated oil. It wasn't very wide, but long and looked like it might be deep. It's been bothering me for a couple of months now. Any ideas? I'd sure hate to think this junk is still out there and no one is worried about it.
If this is oil from another vessel, would it not be black? What I saw looked just like the BP oil after it was treated with that dispersion(?) chemical.
