What would you like to see in a sports betting blog?

I created one, and I will include the address, but if I attach the address, then the question would nto be visible, so I will add that later this afternoon for everyone to see. Please check out my blog and let me know what you think or things I can add. I pretty much give my picks out, and I am over 60% since I started the blog.

I am running about 60% probably for the past couple of years. The blog is for the past 20 days, and I am around 67% on the blog.

Erving, lay off the caffeine, man. It's a far stretch to compare Ptsie to me. I'll admit that I often have a negative spin on things, especially if I believe someone is spamming this forum.

Ptsie, on the other hand, rarely has a negative word to say. He offers his advice, and he includes his link to his website at the end of his advice. For him to mention as part of his answer to your question that it looked suspicious was rare. That's because it REALLY did look like spam!

Scout - If your website is about offering picks, then make it be just about that. You might actually check out Ptsie's website to give you some good ideas.

Here is my bit of negativity that I can't argue with Erving about. I know that I have plenty. (I like to think of it as being realistic!) 60% since you started a blog doesn't mean a whole lot. Does that represent 20 picks? 50 picks? 1,000 picks? If you've gone about 2 years running with 60%, I'd say you're doing better than 95% of all sports bettors. Keep it up for 5 years, and I'd put you as better than 99%. As long as you are honest, up front, and keep picking 60% plus, you'll likely find an audience.

Scout: I am trying to answer straight to your question and not being involved in any dispute.

(Because I have a site where I sell sport picks I can say I am allowed to give some valuable information)

- users (of your site) want to see PROFITS ... not percentage
- they need to KNOW that you are honest ... that is why you should be monitored by a third party site
- they might want to see that you are betting for real on what you are saying (some real picture of your bet tickets or snap shot if you are betting online)

Sometime REASON means a lot. WHY you choose that ? If you have some critical information, spread it to the world.

Example: North Carolina vs Michigan State on 11 November 2011 (The total for this game was set to 134). The game was played on the battleship in the evening in free air. (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/12/sports/ncaabasketball/unc-and-michigan-state-tip-off-on-an-aircraft-carrier.html?_r=1
Because no deep distance is perceptible when black (night) horizon were there, the 3 points missing will be high, and players have to go under the basket to score. Teams have big defense. An UNDER should be a good choice. Final score: 67-55.

This kind of information could attract more visitors to your site.

If you're in the UK you can apply for a gambling certificate which allows you to do PPC advertising on adwords. It's expensive though, so probably not your best option. Seeing as it's a blog try guest articles on other sites or blogs - something that can give the potential readers a preview of what your site is like. Swapping posts with other blogs is a good way to do this. Depending on your budget you could also sponsor local events - a horse race or local football match.
