what goes 2004 pacifica heater fan runs wide open and will not turn off?

it still has the direction control as well as temperature control. relay not stuck in on position. is it the resistor? I hate to spend 80 bucks to guess. Is it the control head whatever that is? how can you tell? If you don't know don't waste people's time please.

I've had the i thought resistor thing out looking at it. it is behind the glove box with 2 screws and 2 harnesses. it does have a circuit board built in. is this the module instead? does anyone know if this is for sure it? i have a dual control style consul.

It is either the resistor or the power control module depending upon the type of a/c system you have. If you have basic controls, you will have a resistor, if you have multi zone control, you will have the control module. I had the same problem with my 03 Town & Country with the multi zone control and I lived with it for a long time until it actually went completely out and the fan wouldn't work at all. I had heard from a couple of sources that it was the resistor but my car didn't have one, instead it had the module and as soon as I replaced it, everything worked fine and I have never had a problem since.

It is usually located behind the glove box door in the blower housing. There are a couple of screws and a couple of wire harnesses. Just take it out, take it with you to the dealer to make sure it matches, and re-install.

EDIT
The module, from the back side, looks like a bunch of aluminum fins. (5 or 6 if I recall) No visible circuit. It sounds to me as though you found it.
