B&A: If you were a...?

Hey guys :)

Was thinking of a few questions and as always, answer as little or as many as you wish :)

1) If you were a character in a mystery book, who would you be? A sly villain with a motive? A rookie detective? The chief? The damsel in distress? The FBI agent who knocks down the doors and puts on the cuffs?

2) If you were a character in a fantasy or sci-fi, who would you be? The valiant astronaut who had his life taken at the forefront? The woman campaigning against the wastage of money spent on rockets and research? The cute little furry creature that guides the newbie around this hidden world?

3) If you were a literary villain, would you be Miss Havisham, Professor Moriarty, Dracula, Mr Hyde, Voldermort or Saruman?

4) If you were a literary traveller, would you visit Narnia, Lilliput, Middle Earth, Oz, Never Never Land or Hogwarts?

5) Are there any literary characters who you think resemble you in any way?

Look forward to your answers

BQ: Recommend any random book that comes to mind :)

I really love these questions. At the moment, I'm really supposed to be printing out my latest masterpiece so that I can go through it with a correction pencil and get rid of any errors before I send it off to the publisher, but that can wait ...

1) If I was a character in a mystery book I'd be ... One of the famous five, of course! (And hopefully I'd be George, who was far more interesting than the other characters.) I'd be the annoying kid who went around solving mysteries that the grown ups couldn't work out.

2) If I were a character in a fantasy of Sci-fi I'd be ... None of the above. I'd probably be Arthur Dent from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Though in all honesty, I'd rather be the furry creature that guide the newbie around the hidden world.

3) If I were a literary villian I'd be ... Ooh, Dracula.

4) If I were a literary traveller I'd visit ... All of the above. I'm a traveller, right?

5) Jo March from Little Women. (I'd love to say Elizabeth Bennet, but in all reality, I'm Jo March through and through.)

BQ: Rebecca is a classic novel by Daphne du Maurier, that tells the story of a shy young woman who is swept off her feet by a rich man while on holiday. They soon marry and return to his home in England, Manderlay, where the ghost of his first wife Rebecca looms large. Who really killed Rebecca and does the second Mrs De Winter have reason to fear those around her? An absorbing gothic romance.

1) If you were a character in a mystery book, who would you be? A sly villain with a motive? A rookie detective? The chief? The damsel in distress? The FBI agent who knocks down the doors and puts on the cuffs?

I would be the secret source, that unknown person who gives the protagonist the information he/she needs a dribble at a time. Sort of like Deep Throat from "All the President's Men".

2) If you were a character in a fantasy or sci-fi, who would you be? The valiant astronaut who had his life taken at the forefront? The woman campaigning against the wastage of money spent on rockets and research? The cute little furry creature that guides the newbie around this hidden world?

I would be the mercenary with a heart. Savage with a sword but with a soft spot for kids.

3) If you were a literary villain, would you be Miss Havisham, Professor Moriarty, Dracula, Mr Hyde, Voldermort or Saruman?

Possibly O'Brien from "1984", or if I were younger, Alex from "A Clockwork Orange".

4) If you were a literary traveller, would you visit Narnia, Lilliput, Middle Earth, Oz, Never Never Land or Hogwarts?

One of the worlds that Neil Gaiman invents.

5) Are there any literary characters who you think resemble you in any way?

Possibly Shakespeare's Falstaff. :P

I'm sorry it took so long to get to this question, JLT. It's good to see you around again. Maybe I'll get back into the swing of things. Take care. :)

1) If you were a character in a mystery book, who would you be? A sly villain with a motive? A rookie detective? The chief? The damsel in distress? The FBI agent who knocks down the doors and puts on the cuffs?
As much as it pains me, I imagine I'd be the damsel in distress. At the most I'd be the rookie cop. I would most want to be the FBI agent, since that sounds the coolest.

2) If you were a character in a fantasy or sci-fi, who would you be? The valiant astronaut who had his life taken at the forefront? The woman campaigning against the wastage of money spent on rockets and research? The cute little furry creature that guides the newbie around this hidden world?
I'd be the cute little furry creature.

3) If you were a literary villain, would you be Miss Havisham, Professor Moriarty, Dracula, Mr Hyde, Voldermort or Saruman?
I'm ashamed that I know very little about most of these villains. I imagine I'd be Saruman. I find I really am nothing like him, I definitely never have much in common with the villains, but close enough.

4) If you were a literary traveller, would you visit Narnia, Lilliput, Middle Earth, Oz, Never Never Land or Hogwarts?
Well, I'd find time to see all of the places, I imagine. But if I was only allowed to choose one, I'd through in Hogwarts, Narnia, and Middle Earth, into a hat and pull one randomly. I'd love to see all three places equally.

5) Are there any literary characters who you think resemble you in any way?
No, not really. I find I relate well to many of Sarah Dessen's female characters, which is slightly sad, though it would make sense that I relate to your average teenage girl, it just isn't at all very interesting.

Well, I'm currently reading Inheritance. So far I rather like it. I know those books really take a hard knock, but I find the series enjoyable.

1) As much as I'd hate to admit it, I'd be the damsel in distress. I'm not cunning enough to be the villain or perceptive enough to be the detective. I'm just the right enough of naivety and clumsiness to be captured though.

2) I'd be the cute little furry creature :D You know, the guy that never really does anything but is just there for comic relief and information.

3) Definitely Dracula. I even look the part - I've got really pale skin. And besides, I'm a night owl and am often up really late.

4) Aaaaa this is hard :/ I think I'll have to go with Never Never Land though. Flying and never growing up and all that.

5) Actually, yes. If you've ever read Haruki Murakami's book Norwegian Wood, I'm pretty similar to the character Naoko. A little shy, a little weird, and not afraid to try out new things.

BQ: The Dracula question reminded me - try out The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's the only good newer vampire book I've read.

Interesting questions

1) I would be the FBI agent who knocks down the doors and puts on cuffs. Lately, I've been watching Castle and I'd like to be like Kate Beckett.
2) I wouldn't be any of those. I would like to be an intergalactic super heroine or a barbie princess in a wonderland.
3) That is a tough question. I always wanted to see how being a vampire (not the sparkly ones) would feel, so Dracula. And I love Voldemort. So, I wanna be Voldemort and Saruman is cool villain. So,being him would be nice as well.
4) Tough one again... I will go to Narnia (because I want to meet Aslan) , Middle Earth (because I wanna meet Legolas), and Hogwarts (because I am a muggle and wouldn't get an admission, anyway).
5) I am kinda like Nancy Drew. But, I think Hermoine Granger suits my personality better. I am studious and like a 'know-it-all' and very strong (in personality).

Books at random, huh... You made me think of Dracula. So, the actual Dracula by Bram Stoker. And I've been thinking about Shutter Island, lately. So, Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. You probably might have watched the movie but, reading the book would be good.
I forgot to add this awesome book I am reading, right now, The Homelanders. It is breath-taking read. You'll never put the book down till you finish.
