I don't have a budgie yet, but I will in August! And I was wondering, Is there another bird that I COULD get down the road if I wanted one? Like a cockateil?
And also, IF you had EXPERIENCE, could you tell me what cheap bird is the best pet, and what is the worst to get.

A parrotlet is the same size but will attack a budgie because they are little demons! (oh how I love mine so) and a lovebird will likely do the same. A love bird and a parrotlet, as well as a cockatiel cost 100-200$ so theres that. also the best bird to keep a budgie company is another budgie, but if you want them to remain tame do not let them breed. possibly keep them is seporate cages and let them have supervised play time together outside of the cage.
