Why is it the ROH World Championship instead of the ROH World Heavyweight Championship?

This may generally seem like a dumb question but I was wondering why Ring of Honor call their primary title the ROH World Championship instead of the ROH World Heavyweight Championship like other promotions the WWE/F, WCW, ECW, TNA etc?

BQ: If Ring of Honor launch a women's division who should be the first champion?

I think it's all based off the way they received the status of a World Title. Where using the plate Heavyweight, it seems that's only used in promotions where it's more globally known. Where there's a WWE World Heavyweight Championship, WCW World Heavyweight Championship, TNA World Heavyweight Championship - the appeal being that, in those days and nowadays, heavyweights are still very much alive in places in TNA, WWE and even ECW, bigger built men and their weight would be over a certain limit, like 245 pounds. The majority of men who have worn those titles are over 220 pounds, the only ones we're associate with that are less than 220 pounds - Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio

RoH or even PWG, for that matter, don't have much heavyweights. PWG may have none, RoH only has Michael Elgin, the rest of the roster is between 180 to 215. They might be some over that pound weight but it's very rare nowadays. Hence why more smaller guys are getting into business, heavyweights are getting rare because of the assumption that many would be drugs or something so heavyweights are not that common as opposed to the past times. NWA World Heavyweight Championship, NWA had it's fair share of big guys. Now, you don't see heavyweight on titles. CHIKARA has Grand Champion, PWG is a World Title, not World Heavyweight. The only other promotion with heavyweight in their primary title that is considered an Indie promotion because they suffered a downfall, is NWA Hollywood.

BQ - Firstly, the roster for this RoH Women's Division would be top stellar. Albeit, it'd have Maria in it for obvious reasons. You'd also have Sara Del Ray, Jessie McKay, most of the SHIMMER stars and some WSU wrestlers as well. I'd pick someone like MsChif. A great ambassador to the women's wrestling scene and a top wrestler as well

because they dont have much heavyweights, plus that was the right decision, i mean, in the wwe and tna many high flyers can win the title, but its still called world HEAVYWEIGHT champion,
what i mean is, that there is no problem if a heavy guy won a title called world championship but theres a problem if a high flyer won a HEAVYWEIGHT title, guys like rey mysterio and dbryan won the heavyweight title, i think it should be called the world title just like in ROH cause it sometimes look dumb when a small guy win a title and be called the world heavyweight champion

BQ: sara del ray

Well, when most of their World Champs are in the 180-200 pound range (Bryan Danielson, Davey Richards, Roderick Strong, Low Ki, Austin Aries, etc), cruiserweight/X Division size everywhere else, you can't hardly call them "heavyweights". And it's to give the impression that Ring Of Honor isn't about weight categories but about wrestling abilities.

BQ: The woman most identifiable with Ring Of Honor. Sara Del Rey.

they don't believe in weight classes. Its called SHIMMER but anyways ROH only had like 2 women who are around on regular basis that being Sara Del Ray and Daizee Haze.
