could a finch be caged with a budgie?

I like to have birds to play with, and one of my other family members likes birds to watch, although, her choice was only made as a statement, not that she actually was making it clear that she wanted one.. we don't have these birds yet, but in August, I'm going to get a budgie, and I was wondering, since she likes canaries and finches is it okay to cage either of them with budgies?

Absolutely not. Budgies are actually in the parrot family and would pick on the finches relentlessly. On top of that, budgies have much stronger beaks and can bite pretty hard, while a finch has very little pressure when they bite, so they would have no defense against the budgie. The budgie would end up ruling the cage and the finch would end up extremely stressed and possibly dead.

Also, budgies and finches are both highly social, but with their own species. For example, it's bordering on cruel to keep a finch alone due to their highly social nature. Finches that are kept alone usually end up depressed and don't have as long of a lifespan. Budgies are also very social with each other and will typically play and group together, so I'd choose one species and get at least two.
