What is a good diet of an adult garter snake? My friend has to give away his adult albino checkered since hes moving. Im not asking him because he feeds goldfish which even i know is a nono.

Guppies bed by you, or even better white cloud minnows. I keep them and breed them, but quarantine period for new bought fish is 30 days. These guys are pretty nutritious. Other than that, earthworms make up a larger part of their staple diet. I would feed earthworms regularly with the are few fish. Earthworms have a much better nutritional content for them.

The only safe feeder fish you can get at pet stores are platies and guppies. Gold fish and minnows( including rosy reds) among many other fish contain thiaminase, this block B1 abortion and leads to slow painful death. Many are also highly fattening.
