What are some pieces you've always thought would translate beautifully into dance or related art forms?
I specifically had in mind things besides our traditional ballets. (Those are obviously already in the crossover between dance and classical music.) Are there any pieces of music that you think would be wonderful set to dance, or any dancing/skating/related performances set to classical music that have impressed you?
When I listen to the beginning of the orchestral version of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody #2, I always envision a full ballet sequence in my head for the first five or six minutes. And in some cases I love classical music being used in figure skating. (I just hate how it gets cut off all the time- a necessity for the sport, which is rarer in ice dancing- and they often use poor recordings).
