adam and eve were found out for eating of the forbidden fruit because they hid their bodies. Why are Abrahamic religions so against exposing their bodies. The missionaries teach natives to be ashamed of their bodies. Parent teach children to cover themselves. If you were truly christian, wouldn't you feel unashamed to walk around naked?
I don't understand the dichotomy.

I don't understand what is wrong with nudity either. Especially if you believe in a creator god. Because shouldn't you be PROUD of your body, if it was created by god? Shouldn't it be something seen as a thing of beauty?
I mean, I personally don't want to see people walking around nude. But that is because of how our society has put that in my head. Many natives in various areas go nude, or almost nude and are unashamed.
I think treating the human naked body as something to be ashamed of, or a thing of lust is rather negative. Because then people feel too "icky" to help out their elder because giving them a bath and seeing them naked is "nasty". Or take how teenage boys react to nudity. They spend their whole life with little exposure to nudity, and then in middle and high school when puberty hits they become very immature about it. They look at girls who bend over and accidentally reveal their underwear and giggle. Or they point and stare at a girl with cleavage. Growing up my father was less strict with me about nudity in movies. and Idk if it is just my personality or what but I have never openly spoke of woman like that. Sure I thought it from time to time and there was the occasional girl that I just had a hard time looking away from......But I am not obsessed about it like some of these teen boys and grown men are.
With the bible, nudity started to ashamed of when Adam and Eve's eyes opened to see the truth. God never wanted us to see the truth and have him protect us like a baby in a mother's arms. Now that ashamed grew and turned into hatred. And this became the norm, something that God don't want us to do. Nudity is about being mentally free and not ashamed. There is so much hate in the world, we use nudity as a fuel for it.
I agree philosophically. We were born naked and there are climates in the world where people wear loincloths, if that much, nobody thinks anything of it. Obviously, midwinter in Alaska, you do want clothes for warmth. And people in the climates of the Mediterranean in Jesus' time wore robes for their insulating value. Another point, though. Go to the mall, look at all the size 12 a$$es stuffed into size 8 shorts or the guys with pot bellies hanging out over their belts. Honestly, would you WANT to see those people naked? Blessings on your Journey!
Personally, I suspect that culture has perverted religion in this regard more than the other way around. We have a way of doing that throughout history to justify many of our intolerances.
Religion has a gross history of vilifying sexuality. Nothing is wrong with nudity inherently, and really if that's how God made bodies in the first place then it would be sinful to cover that up.
We used clothes for warmth first, then for class, then for decency, now for originality.
