I've played skyrim all the time and it never used to do this, but here recently it freezes my entire PS3 whenever I fall in any water or try to go in any water. It doesnt matter where the water is. It does it on all of my characters. Any ideas?

Uninstall the game utility data, then restart and download the new content which includes a patch for this situation. Make sure you keep your saved game data, DO NOT delete this, as you will have to restart the game all over again.

I'm having the exact same problem as you right now. I think we may have to clear out the skyrim memory. Not sure yet, I am working on it as we speak will let you know once I get it.
UPDATE: clear the game data for Skyrim by going to the game utility section of the XMB. When you reboot Skyrim after this change, the game will reinstall and it should fix the problem for you. It was a glitch from the most recent patch. This was what i found on bethesda and It worked.

Try uninstalling the game, then reinstall it, it worked for a friend of mine.
