By having someone who will take care what is to be taken care of. A house is alive if a constant care is being practice and implemented. Never forget that dust kills the beauty of the house, and also accommodate all sorts of insects that destroy the house itself. So if you are absent and you don't occupy your house then it's better let anyone you can trust occupy your house and instruct them to take care. But if you are talking of the whole properties then same procedure. Constant care.
