I have a Sony Network Media player SMP-N100 that I use to stream video from my pc to the tv. Is there a way to accesss the internet (wirelessly) to my VIZIO E470VLE television. I don't wish to pay DirectTV $89 for a box if I don't have to.

If there is a USB port, it is possible, we have a Sony TV, we just insert a USB Wireless LAN adapter, and we can now access to internet.
