what kind of welding rig should i buy?

eventually im going to buy a welding rig/ mobile welder. its gonna be used for tig and stick since i havent seen rig job that asked for fcaw-s yet. what kind should i get? both brand and design style suggestions. like trailer style or the kind that sits in the bed of the truck, size, voltage, brand, age any concerns? im basically clueless so any help would be great. oh, and anything that i should check out as i buy it. like i said, short of actually welding, im pretty ignorant here.

also, any tips or info on whats its like to work with ur own rig would be cool and what i should expect.

thanks guys.

You should really go talk to your local welding supplier. Your needs will dictate what machine is best. This is kind of how I group them.

Light duty ; This is the guy who does spot jobs out in the field such as fences, equipment repair and light fabrication.
Miller Bobcat - this is the base unit. Been selling them for years to farmers and light rig welders.

Lincoln 250; Basic gas drive from Lincoln, has some more complex electronics that make it a better welder with 7018 than the Miller. I recommend this machine for some one who will be working in plants and more structural work.

Miller Trailblazer: This machine is best for one who will have a second person working with them running a grinder or other power tools as it has separate windings for weld/aux power.

For diesel drives you really need to talk with the welding supply. Note, due to EPA regulations any diesel over 25hp will go up 50% next year. Good luck.

it takes alot of prepare you cant merely initiate welding and study good of way in case you in no way accomplished it, and plus why are you goin to do away with areas you dont want 2 until eventually they are truly smashed in or rusted via. to me it variety of feels you dont understand what your doing. what variety of motor vehicle is it. yet maximum welds used are mig weld or oxy welds. circulate to a community college or college that teaches you alot of those skills. yet once you have questions digital mail me 4 help.
