I am writing a poem and need some help. The character only needs to fit one of the three criteria. Thanks!
1) Someone who is so afraid he/she cannot act, esp. someone who hides him/herself away from the world
2) Someone who rises back from the dead or survives a near-death experience (besides Lazarus and Jesus)
3) Someone who is suicidal or attempts suicide

Number 1 could be the nymph Echo (who loved Narcissus) but hid from him and never spoke to him.
Number 2 could be any of Achilles, Memnom, Castor, and Heracles.
Number 3 could be Judas Iscariot or Lucretia (from the founding of the Roman Republic myth)

I love the tragic story of Orpheus who cheats death by traveling to the Underworld to recover the love of his life Eurydice. She tastes death on the very day of their wedding after being bitten by a Viper. But the real tragedy is that although his sad songs touch the hearts of the Gods who allow him to rescue her from death, when the lovers are almost back to the land of the living Orpheus forgets a warning and turns to look at Eurydice.....she vanishes from him forever.
